Sooo I read Laurell K Hamilton's latest Anita book (Flirt) - and while well written (just as her other books are) - I was under the misconception that this would be a full sized novel. Some people could call it that, but having read her other books, this one falls quite short! On average her books tend to be over 400 pages...this one (which I paid the same amount as a normal sized book) was a mere 192 pages?! WHAT THE FUCK! I'm so disappointed right now; I had been looking forward to this book for a while now. Jeez! It's not even that the book was bad, because it wasn't - it was quite good...but it was like a teaser story...so short...

Hopefully I'll have more luck with Nalini Singh's Archangel's Kiss.

Okay so I'm in need of some new fiction...and I'd like some ideas pronto.

Here is my list of fave. authors:

Patricia Briggs,
Nalini Singh,
Kelley Armstrong,
Carrie Vaughn,
Laurell K. Hamilton,
Gena Showalter,
Emma Holly,
Robin D. Own
Kim Harrison,
Ilona Andrews,
C.E. Murphy,
Eileen Wilks,
Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb,
and others I'm sure.

I enjoy fiction that is: urban fantasy / romance / regular fantasy / slightly erotic. Any or all combined, I don't care which. I tend to prefer female protagonists, but I don't really care as long as the book is well written and entertaining. I'm a sucker for a happy ending - but I like characters that have to work for it.

I DO NOT like: Twilight/Stephanie Meyers & Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse Series.
I have tried:
the Dresden Files - Jim Butcher (I'm still reading them every once in a while - he's not my favorite, but he is entertaining)

Richelle Mead and her Succubus series - it ended up pissing me off. I have as of yet to try her other series'.

Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series - I owned quite a few of them...but she just didn't go where I wanted her to, so I eventually gave her up.

C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamps Sazi series - I've read a few, still go back every once in a while to read some more - not my fave.s though.

Karen MacInerney's TALES OF AN URBAN WEREWOLF series - They're okay, not a fave.

And I'm fond of books by:
Jocelynn Drake
Jeniene Frost
Shannon McKenna
Marjorie M. Liu
Julie Garwood
JoAnn Ross
Judith McNaught
Susan Wiggs
Meg Cabot
Cate Tiernan
Tamora Pierce
Anne Bishop
Barb & J.C. Hendee
Elizabeth Amber
Holly Black
Jean M. Auel

Got any ideas??? lol, I read A LOT!!!

Just finished up Dayhunter. The second book in Jocelyn Drake's Dark Days series. It was pretty good - not exactly what I expected - but still good. Here's it's description:

"A new day dawns blood red

A master of fire, Mira is the last hope for the world. For centuries she has secretly enforced the history-altering edicts of the Triad. Now she and her unlikely ally—the human vampire hunter, Danaus—have come to Venice, home of the nightwalker rulers. But there is no safety in the ancient city, for the threat of conflict is in the wind . . . with unholy alliances and earth-shattering betrayals taking hideous form in the shadows.

Banished for eons beyond the world's boundaries, the malevolent naturi prepare to feed once again upon a vulnerable earth—and treachery is opening wide the portal that will enable their dread re-emergence. The great battle that has always been Mira's destiny is looming, and she must remain powerful in the face of a shocking revelation: that Danaus, the only creature she dares to trust, is something more than the man he claims to be . . ."

My Opinion:
Slightly Spoilery
